1961 Cinelli Mod. S.C.

The Cinelli Modello Super Corsa (Mod. S.C.) was introduced in the early 1950s as Cinelli's top model and were built by Luigi Valsassina. The Mod. S.C. features a full-sloping fork crown and fast-back seat stay/seat post bolt system, chrome fork crown and chrome "socks" on the stays and fork legs. It is one of the most recognizable and iconic bikes from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, and the early models are some of the most desirable/collectable bikes. A "blue chip" bike. I bought this bike July 18, 2020 (E-Bay) from Michael Brown (Redding, CA) who was selling it on behalf of his friend and second owner of the bike. THE BIKE Frame: ca 1961 Cinelli Mod. S.C. The plain gauge, instead of the butted 531 tubes, may have been a special order. Extremely fragile original paint survived only because the bike was rarely ridden. Campagnolo dropouts with Campagnolo Sport derailleur spring anchor-hole. Bottom bracket shell with oil port and drain hole. 57.5 and 58.o cm top and seat tubes, respectively.
