1977 Mercier Service des Courses

ca 1977 Mercier Service des Courses in the quintessential pink color, that I bought on October 6, 2013. All original, including the bar tape, exceptions being the seat and possibly the Campagnolo wheelset. Merciers were ridden by the eternal runner up (to Anquetil and then Merckx) in the Tour de France, Raymond Poulidor, known affectionately as Poupou. THE BIKE Frame: Reynolds 531 with windowed long point lugs. Mercier engraved semi-wrap over seat stays. Original paint. Brakeset: Mafac Competition, gold anodized brake levers and calipers. Handlebars: Mercier engraved Belleri. Stem: Mercier engraved Belleri. Headset: Stronglight P3 Competition - second version.
